Heather Retberg
Heather is co-author of the legislation that secured the right to food constitutional amendment in the state of Maine, as well as the first-in-the-nation Maine Food Sovereignty Act. Heather is a farmer and homeschooling mother and, together with her husband, Phil, she lives and works on Quill’s End Farm, a grass-based farm and micro dairy. Quill’s End Farm has been a leader in the efforts for food sovereignty in Maine toward community self-determination. Heather is also a member of Food for Maine’s Future, a community-based organization, working to build solidarity and alliances between rural people in Maine and around the world. Heather is a co-founder of the National RtF CoP.
